Rest in Peace Baby boy. You taught me so much and thank you for forgiving me my mistakes. You were without a doubt one in a million.
Run free Sweetie, and know that you are very very missed.
A very special thanks to Dr. Hamilton who drove over 50 miles one way to ease his passage. Because of her he was able to die in his home with his head in my lap.
Betty I am so deeply sorry for the hideous pain that is gripping your heart, we love them so much, and when they leave us, it doesn't seem possible that we will never see them again.
But you know of course that you will. You definitely will.
Betty, I'm so very sorry for your loss. We know it's the last act of love we can give them, to provide a peaceful passage to the Bridge, but then we are still left with our own unbearable pain. You and your family will be in my thoughts. Run free, Doc......
With each day the feelings of sadness and loss will diminish, and will be transformed by memories bringing smiles, and eventually contentment and gratitude.
Memories bringing smiles. Another wondrous gift.

"I wouldn't touch that dog, son. He don't take to pettin." Hondo, played by John Wayne
Betty! I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I could never imagine losing my dog but as Mike said, with each day that passes the sadness and loss will diminish.
You will see little bits of Doc come through within your next dog and those lessons he has taught you will forever be remembered.

Yes.
And a deep bow to you, as to all who have been and will be in that position, for easing your beloved companion's transition regardless of the pain to yourself.
I believe that it's deeply honorable to provide a fulfilled life for our wonderful companions and then, when needed, to go on to provide a gentle passing.
We've all been there, and we all know the anguish. My heart is with you.
Wonderful that there are still devoted veterinarians who will come to the home of an old friend, a good client, a lover of dogs and let them die with those they love in their own surroundings.
I am sorry for your loss. It sounds like this was a special friend.
