Me thinks I need a sport for the baby dragon...I'm in Arizona, it's hot as heck, the pavement would cook an egg, no access to a body of water, only occasionally..anyone know of any sports in the Phoenix area? I know Tucson has stuff but way too far!?
Secondly, Drogos ears are very, very big! When they are down he looks like a bloodhound. They have been up and down since he was eight weeks. While his body, feet and ears are huge, his face is still small, not in proportion to his ears or body. Many teeth still missing on the top of the mouth so still teething for sure, just turned 5 months two days ago. I know they say if they've been up once they will come up but because of the bottom wide width of the ear should I be concerned and start taping? I don't want to take a chance and miss the window!
Thanks again all for your advice, I am always grateful!
I'd get to know the irrigation and sprinkler schedules for any nearby parks. Do you have any canal paths near you that run near the farms? Those are consistently the coolest areas because of the extra moisture.
Maybe it's time for some nose work? It can be done all indoors and it can give the pup a mental workout.
There are a few indoor agility places around if you want to introduce pup to that. If you go to AZ Dog Sports there's a trainer to avoid(too heavy handed). PM me for the name. I've heard positive things about Top Notch Canine but haven't actually had any contact with them. Most of the indoor agility places also run clicker/marker classes. Top Notch just added Treibball too.
I'm not going to be much help for this even though I live in Avondale. My dog doesn't deal with the heat well so he basically hibernates in the house during the hottest months. I wet down his dig box(my former raised garden) and even with that he can't take more than about 10 minutes out in the yard.
If the ears are going to stand they will after the dogs adult teeth are all in. That' usually about 6 months when all the teething is done.
The fact that they have been up at one time is a reasonably good indicator the they will come stay up in the right time.
