The Brown and white are pretty much his whole line of dogs. He was/is (not sure if he's still alive) known in the terrier world as a great story teller. I have a couple of his books and for pure humor "Tales of a Rat-Hunting Man" is supposed to be stories of his youth and the characters he met on the way. It's a stitch! I don't know if he used Beagles but he was concerned with rat hunting only and developing a JRT to his ideals. old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks

According to no.1 son, these Plummers are, quote, 'Nobby little buggers mum!'

I've hunted with a few of the UK terrier men that have come over here to judge our terrier/Lurcher trials. GREAT folks and I love all their expressions. To a person they were all fascinated with the different quarry we have here in the States. This was all almost 10 and more yrs ago. I gave up digging at about 60 yrs old. The knees and back ain't what they used to be. old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks
