I liked the idea of a certain trick that everybody could train. It would be interesting to see all the different approaches from both the dog and human.
I'm not sure that we'd be able to find a trick that no one has trained yet. Some of the dogs on here have quite a large trick vocabulary.
Maybe a small group of, say, 3 tricks to choose from? So that people can choose one that their dog does not know and may be more likely to be able to train successfully based on their existing skillset?
Anything sounds fun to me. Part of the challenge will be thinking of a behavior I haven't already trained, but that is what makes it exciting for me. It will force me to examine our lives together and see what I can add something useful / fun for us.
What about having 2 categories? A simple behavior (i.e. a solid heel or stay) and a chained behavior? Might get more people in the contest
So each entrant would do both?
If they wanted to, if say they had a new dog and a more marker fluent dog. The idea is to make the contest so that everybody can participate in it no matter what level of training fluency they and their dog are at.
