Hello, I have been booked for a career presentation at a local rcmp detachment next month. Wondering if anyone has any possible insight on what to wear ect. Any information really will help as i cannot find anything online.
Feel free to private message me if you don't want to write your occupation on here.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention its a career/ recruiting type function. So its not just a typical job career fair. Its the mandatory first step before starting the police exams ect.

wouldn't the honest thing to do would be go as your conscience and taste dictate.
I think they want to see the real you not the guy asking people on dog forums what he should appear like, just guessing.
Seeing as its a career where you represent the government, yes i do believe how you present your self matters. How i should dress is one of many variables i would like to know before attending. Going dressed how i usually do would not be an option.
(Shorts and t-shirt)
Connie, thanks for the link, i will look through that forum meticulously.
I think you should go in clothes like the job you want to get.
So, I'd be thinking khaki pants, long sleeve shirt with a collar, a dress shirt. No tie. Maybe a sports coat, or something like a windbreaker. Not a jacket with writing on it. Professional. Adult.
MHO is that asking what is customary attire in certain business situations one hasn't yet encountered has little to do with "honesty" or "conscience."
I have to agree. I dress according to my own personal taste when I'm at home, but if I was going out on a job interview and wasn't sure of the appropriate attire for the particular position, I would research it, too. I don't see anything dishonest about complying with the protocols and expectations of an employer or potential employer.
