hi, my malinois lately we've noticed has weird bare patches on both sides of her face where her whiskers are, a couple spots under her chin and one above her eye. any idea what in the world this could be?? Its kinda dry not bald but bare skin kinda, hard to explain and dk how to upload pics.
Thanks! sorry if this makes no sense.

Is the skin dandruffy? Is she itching a lot in those spots? I'd do a ringworm check followed by a vet scraping for mange or just go for the scraping. One or two spots I'd attribute to scratching but more than one in the same general area makes me think something like ringworm.
I don't know how to post a pic. She has a eco plastic bowl its supposed to be all natural. Yes she was recently vaccinated for rabies. Looks like mange more than ring worm, seen lots of that working in a shelter. But I don't know how she would get mange. Its not dandruffy but seems like it should be, doesn't seem to bother her or be scratching it. She is a year and a half. No de worming.
Thanks for the replies!

I would say remove the bowl first - since it is the easiest thing to try.
I do still think this could be related to the vaccine tho - demodex mange can occur in periods where the immune system is overloaded or suppressed. This can sometimes happen after a vaccine, and is often seen in growing puppies who are under a lot of stress with socialization, training, growth, dietary changes, deworming and vaccines.
The mites that normally live on the skin are given an opportunity to "take over", so to speak. Which can lead to hair loss, usually on the face, ears etc.
hi, I just looked really closely, she is hard to grab and sit still. It looks on the whiskers part like pimples. We did change the bowl as of a few days ago coz that was my thought, so hoping that helps. She was vaccinated a week or so ago.
