I remember seeing that a couple days ago. I also remember being in elementary school and standing in line to get my sugar cube with the oral vaccine in it (which I understand was developed by someone else, after Dr. Salk's work on the injectable vaccine).
We sure could use another Dr. Salk these days......
I remember there was almost always a picture in the paper when someone's little brother kissed the boo boo on their brother's/sister's arm and wound up vaccinating them selves on the lip.
The sugar cubes sure made it a lot easier.
One of my older sisters still has the round vaccination scar on her shoulder.
Albert Sabin, a medical researcher, was credited with the development of the oral polio vaccine. Dr Salk was the developer of the original poo vaccine.

Bob, I'm not sure what you mean by this. Was it (is it) possible to pass on immunity that way, through body fluid contact? I know you can catch many diseases that way, but I never knew that you can pass on immunity that simply. Just curious.

THAT one would Not be from the Polio shot, but rather a Small Pox vaccination or something, IMHO -- Polio injections do not leave any Scar, so far as I know, Bob
