Can't go to sleep because Turbo and I just got back from tracking a deer AND WE FOUND IT!
Wasn't the hardest track in the world. Gut shot, which is SUPER smelly for a dog. Under 150 yards. About 30-45 minutes worth of tracking. But the 3 main areas of blood were spread out about 35-45 yards apart. It was really fun to watch Turbo connect the dots and allow us to reach out further when there was no blood to show us the way.
My friend was happy, Turbo was happy, and of course I'm proud as can be. Wish we could do this more often.
Thanks for listening to my brag. I'm gonna try to get calmed down now.
It's starting to become common place in the states that the large hunting clubs keep a dog on call. Some places don't start a track, however easy, without a dog. They just want the dog to have the first try without clumsy humans stinkin up the place.
