Sadly us Brits don't have what has always looked like a fantastic holiday, however, as I have personal experience, as mentioned before, of acute pancreatitis with 2 sneaky bitches, it is deeply unfunny, and highly alarming, especially when you come down in the morning to a puddle of thrown up blood, so hoping you all have a lovely thanksgiving, and your dogs stay out of the vets!

BUMP. Look out for those counter surfers! I know I'll have all fats contained/disposed of before my counter lotto junkie hits the kitchen floor
Also all boxes of chocolates!
Turkey Day and all the winter holidays lead to stuff in the house that is bad for dogs (from pancreatitis to worse and worst). Wrapped in gift paper means nothing to a tempted dog, so when I receive a hostess gift or a holiday gift that's wrapped, I always ask if it's food. I always put food gifts on a high shelf in the cupboard.
I never want to spend a holiday at the e-vet (or worse).
So my rules are simple ..... the food trash goes outside before I leave the kitchen, and all alcoholic beverages and food gifts are unreachable by dogs.
