They had an article in YOUR DOG (their publication) about it in July. I have no idea how other veterinarians or colleges of vet med feel about it--but it might be something to include in your research.

Depending upon the ethics of the individuals involved, it can be a good or a bad thing. Nutritional value is only one part of the process. If we feed a nutritionally sound diet but use a contaminated product, we've accomplished nothing. Some concerns I saw expressed had to do with salmonella, E. coli and Yersinia, etc. Even supermarkets can sell contaminated meat. Dogs can do exceptionally well on a QUALITY raw diet OR QUALITY commercial dog food. I think whether we feed raw or commercial or homemade, we need to be concerned with how the food we are feeding is processed and/or handled. So I guess what I'm saying is: After you make your decision--raw or commerical, be nosy and check into how your manufacturer/supplier handles the product you are feeding. Then when you get the food home, take care not to contaminate it.
