The board doesn't want me to quote you, Kristin! But to answer your question it's for body awareness and conditioning work. Actually everything but retrieving items to the box and the fist bump work toward that.
The board, getting in the box, and some of the balance cushion exercises teach him he's got hind legs and how to use them.
The cushions, sit pretty, down to stand to sit etc and the board work all exercise different muscle groups.
Take a bow and leg weaves and board work (again!) are also good stretching exercises.
Dogs with good body awareness have more confidence while working over a variety of surfaces and building core muscle strength helps prevent injury.
But these exercises could plug into any sport or just fun training. And they're a great way to build a foundations for a dog who is willing and able to try lots of stuff.
