That was on the news today.
One thought was that Go-Daddy put it up there on purpose to get people upset then pull it.
Reason being was when they pulled it off they then said they would replace it with something else but not saying what.
Building up anticipation for the upcoming commercial just a bit huh!
How many will look for it just because of all the stink raised?!
I say, like it or not it's marketing.

On one hand, it's all marketing. OTOH, I don't think they expected quite the negative backlash. Which was very much deserved IMO. And, while it's all marketing with bud as well, they do have a track record of excellent care for their animals and some pretty brilliant training.

I'm still trying to figure out what it is so offensive. It certainly can't be any more offensive than a Steve Martin or Chris Rock comedy routine... If that is offensive, George Carlin must be (was) a hideous monster.
The pup in the ad is an actor. The events are contrived; the pup didn't really fall out of a truck or get dissed by the new owner. Movies, tv shows and other ads depict murder, slavery, racism, bigotry, etc, etc, etc, and people don't get nearly as offended. GoDaddy ads with scantily clad women are more acceptable than a satire starring a dog?
Budweiser does not own or train the animals in the ads, except for the Clydesdales, but I don't think they own all of the ones in the commercials. The majority of the work is handled by acontracted wrangler. Here is the website for their primary wrangler...

By the same token, Duane, a nip-slip at half-time should not have been so big a deal as it was. Yay for media overblowing everything for the sake of something to fill up 24-7 news coverage.

humans making fun of humans is completely different, just like humans in a fighting match with another human is different to throwing two dogs in a pit.
if you don't get what the offensive part is then you must be the intellectual equivalent of homer simpson.

Why is it acceptable for humans to murder each other, but not buy a dog from a breeder?
That's my point exactly... We want to get all noble and self-righteous over a fictionalized piece of satire about animals, but we don't give a damn about how humans are treated.
The fact that we are more offended by dogfights than by youtube videos of subway fights says a lot to me.
Call me what you like. That only makes my point for me. FWIW, I have disagreed many times with you, but never resorted to personal insults.

Well, then, let's try this, Homer...
Are you as outspoken about human trafficking?
Were you just as offended by the scene in "Something About Mary" that depicts aguy trying to hide a cat that he accidentally killed? Are you outraged at the the false depictions of horses getting shot in Westerns, or of cattle being stampeded to divert attention while the human villains escape?
This whole thing is one huge reach, by everyone on all sides.
And I'm not stupid enough to believe that you didn't read my whole post...
ETA; What's wrong with breeders? This site is run by one. Some of the best dog people I know breed. Many of the posters here purchase dogs from breeders, if they aren't breeders themselves.
