I totally admire, maybe even envy a bit, the training skills that go into dog dancing.........I just have a bit of a hard time watching it.
Just call me a stubborn old coot.
LOL, me too GREAT job with that bronze Newfie, but I can't keep from CRINGING somehow -- It's the whole "treating dogs as if they were humans" thing that just isn't my Personal cup of tea, is all...
It seemed a little "safe" to me. I would like to have seen a little more actual dance content. A nice enough effort, but I want to see a little more sparkle in your next dance.
You guys know I'm kidding, right? Can you tell I watch "Dancing With the Stars"?
Not gonna get much "sparkle" out of a Newf unless it's on uppers.
..............and Len would have given that dog a 6.
All in all, kudos to the handler. She is working with a dog breed that, in general, has less drive then one would expect for just about anything that requires high energy.

I agree completely, Bob. That handler did a very nice job, and it's clear she's put a lot of work into it. The dog was focused, attentive, and happy through a fairly long routine. The dog's energy level was appropriate for its breed. Whether you call it dog dancing, freestyle, whatever, it is a dog sport that is gaining in popularity. I would never criticize someone for choosing to do an activity they love with their dogs, as long as it's safe and enjoyable for both.
I just couldn't resist my little DWTS reference. It was strictly tongue-in-cheek.
I won't post it on the board again because I know it really creeps Bob out, LOL, but there's a certain very talented golden retriever doing the merengue that can be seen on YT.
LOL, back in the mid-'90s, I heard a girl band sing a song in which the title lyric was, "I am built for comfort, I ain't built for speed" !!! Wonder if they hailed from Newfoundland
