I have a 6 month old GSD and looking for advice on best bite pillow for training young dogs. I bought a small one from Leesburg, which is very well made, but too thick and hard for her to grip it well.
If she cannot get a good grip, she soon gets discouraged and bored.
Thanks!

Once a GSD pup learns to bite, no toy will be too big or too tough. It's all in the grips, and experience will help sort that out.
I got the same reactiobn from the mature GSD that I adopted. She was used to small housedog type toys, and refused jute tugs and bite pillows when I tried to introduce them. However, when the helper presented them during a bitework training session, she instinctively struck them straightaway and deeply. Now, she will immediately and surely bite anything presented to her.
At six months, your GSD is ready to bite. You need to get with some experienced helpers and teach him correctly, and the boredom and half-hearted attempts will exttinguish themselves.
