Some things I picked up:
"Kennel cough" usually isn't bordetella any more. Most of the time it is a variety of flu, H3N2 or others. This is confirmed by PCR tests which show via DNA what disease agent is actually there.
Dogs who are boarded a lot and need bordetella protection to be as good as it can be probably need oral/inter nasal + systemic vaccine. Each only protects half the system, which is what gives us the impression that neither vaccine works at all.
Dogs with separation anxiety are predisposed to thunderstorm phobia. Thunderstorm phobias can be successfully treated in most dogs by medication, and if enough medication is used, correctly, the phobias can be extinguished so that medication is no longer needed.
Serum tests for allergy are completely worthless in cats.
Demodex in the dog can be cured with Nexguard-- no more dip! No more ivermectin!
Just a few interesting things I heard. I mainly went to cattle meetings.....

Now you tell me! I just went through a month of Ivermectin a few months ago for Rogue's demodex.
Thanks for the info!
Personally I don't really think bothering with the Bordatella vaccines is worth it especially when they can tell it's mostly influenza anyway. Healthy dogs get over it and dogs that don't have a strong immune system shouldn't be boarded in the first place. There's some bad strains that surface but for the most part it's just a part of communal dog life.
