Well, the dealers that carry it in my area claim that it cures hip dysplasia ( and I'm not kidding, they actually say that ). And bad skin. And dull coat. And dental problems. And loose stool. And poor appetite. And...etc, etc, etc.....
And I thought snake oil salesmen went out of business in the 1800's.

thanks I am so sorry that nobody has given you feedback on Hoka mix other than a negative one. I am a dogwalker and have many older dogs I walk, who are dealing with Arthritis and other ailments. A lot of times I try to help the owners with adjusting the diet for their dog and also helping with supplements. I was turned on to Hoka mix through my German friend Anje, who has used it for many years on her German Shepherds and has gotten great results from it. I started suggesting it to some of my clients and have had great results. A ten year old dog, who was very stiff and a lot of times in pain walking is now obviously out of pain. He is still pretty stiff, but he loves to run, play and jump around now, after being on the Hoka mix for about 4 months. Nothing else was changed in his diet. Another dog, a Rottweiler mix was healing with allergies and kept chewing on her leg because of the itch and after about 8 weeks of Hoka mix stopped the chewing. Again nothing else had been changed in her diet. I really believe that Hoka mix helps the dogs to assimilate their food better and get the nutrition that's in the food, rather than eliminating it. That is all the manufacturer talks about. They help the dog to get the nutrition into the system, by providing the herbs and enzymes necessary for digestion. And I know this sounds far fetched, but my friend Anja belives that Hoka mix in conjunction with other measures helped her Shepherd to get cured of hip dysplasia...
I hope this helped a little, ever if your post was a long time ago!

The breeder from whom I purchased my dog gave me a small container of this stuff to take home, saying it it was important for the dogs health and coat, and bones, and eyesight, etc. I also got some beta carotine for a coat pigment enhancer.
The dog hated the hokamix. Not even adding just a quarter of the recommended amount would have her touch the food.
No wonder.
Look at the ingredients: it's all flower seeds and plant extractions and such. What an unnatural food for a carnivore.
And it smells awful.
Humans may think this is the best thing since sliced bread, but my dogs reaction was "paws down"!
I threw the stuff away. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
anne.. do your reasearch on the diet of carnivours, you sound ingnorant in saying,
"What an unnatural food for a carnivore.
And it smells aweful."
It is natural for dogs to digest vegetables, flowers and fruites. All good things for them, and it doesn't have to "smell good" to you. Bottom line hokamis is a good supplement. You can find it on line
I for one, have tried to find it. Everyone says it's been banned from being imported into the US because of some labeling issue. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
