Someone told me it is a law in US to put a muzzle on a dogs snout on walks. On all dogs over 20 kg. If it is true, what sense does this make if a dog is totally inaggressive?
And why only for those over 20 kg. A small ankle biter can not kill anyone, ok, but can hurt someone severly,

Maybe in some European countries, but NOT in the USA
it is coming here around Montreal, Qc plus Pit Bull ban or anything that may look like one (suspended for now as the Montreal SPCA is taking the city to court)
We had somethng like this in Switzerland too. Different breeds like Pits, Doberman, Rottweilers and others were forbidden. The result was that those people who wanted to sell such breeds began to create mixtures with the same characteristics. We called them grey breeds. The result was only that we had aggressive dogs but without the possibilty to recognize them so easily. And of course mostly the dogs who were abused for those horrible dog fights. Money, money!
This law now doesn`t exist any more, because it was useless. Instead we have a law which obliges every dog owner no matter what kind of dog he has to absolve a course how to train him.
I know this will not solve all the problems but at least it is much more reasonable than to forbid a whole breed, which leads the the greedy breeders only to cheat.

Oh, good to know. So it depends on the state. It's not everywhere the same Law and the muzzle was demanded only for aggressive dogs. That't then a quite different thing and makes sense.

Then it's similar like in Switzerland. In Brazil too there ar national, state and regional laws. But in many cases there ar no laws at all. Less confusing, lol, but sometimes awful.
