The hunter will often leave a shirt, jacket or some form of clothing behind and when the dog does come in then that shirt, jacket, etc will keep the dog in that spot till the hunter returns the next day. old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks

"and then I heard his footsteps, that sound I love the best...tonight I'm taking all his shoes, so he can never leave" YES, anyone who has Never Known the love of a Dog, can not really appreciate the full meaning of devotion & fidelity, IMHO -- While I was growing up, my mother had to work outside the home fulltime ... So I spent my after-school hours with a "stay at home mom" and her 4 kids who lived across the street from our house /// To this very moment, well over 60 years later, I can still hear memory's echo of my mother's FOOTSTEPS coming up their walk to take me home after work (SNIFF) and that must be the same way our dogs FEEL every time we reunite with them each day
