Hi guys, are you all dead? It's so quiet lately in this forum. I do miss you all and hope you're all well, just having other things to do.

Nope, not dead here, either, lol. I, too, still check the board pretty much daily. I miss the heyday when we had ten or more threads going at once and ten or more people participating in each one.
My dogs are both seniors -- very much so -- and their days of active training and competing are long over. Nowadays, it's just all about trying to keep them healthy and happy. Someday, there may be a young dog or two in my life again, and I'll get a lot more active in training. I just hope when that day comes, I'm not the one who feels too old to do much!

I stop in every night but there hasn't been a lot of chat going on here.
Same place as Cheri.
One dog Trooper just a few months shy of 12.
I toss his Kong a few times every day because he begs me to do that
I just don't toss it far or more then 3-4 times a session.
First time in many, many years with only one dog but I'll keep it to just one.
I know I DO have one left in me though after Trooper.

Thanks Bob. At least one person alive! Good to know that Trooper already plays with the Kong and even begs you for throwing it. Smart and funny guy! I see he has already caught your heart. And all the earlier ones will stay there for ever.
Only one! Good, so you have fullfilled the wish of your wife. Vow!

Trooper has always had my heart as had all my past dogs but there is always that special dog that you just can't/shouldn't compare others to. Next puppy will also be a small house dog. One that doesn't shed......HMMMM....another Border terrier's coat could be a good match with our couch. SHHHHHHHH!

Ah yes, now I remember. Border Terriers are so sweet. Are you 100% sure, you'll have only one??? How much space do you have on your couch?^ Do you think the BTs will not claim all of it or will they leave a spot for you? Have fun with them.

Ah, and don't forget the pussycats! We - long time ago - had once a discussion, where you said: a cat can't be trained to follow you within a crowded place. I only later recalled that this can't be true. I myself have taught my cats only a few necessary house rules, which was very easy.
But I've seen in my hometown every year a few times a man who showed a great programm in the middle of our crowded marketplace. This without fence. Each animal would have had the possibility to run away if it had wanted. He had two cats balancing on a thin rope, also jumping from post to post, also balancing normally, which is easy for a cat, and also moving forward hanging underneath. One walked with a rat and a mouse hanging on the rope. He also showed tricks with dogs, a goat, different birds, a minipig, a big pig and a donkey. All animals were free, but each one knew its place where it belonged after or before the demonstration.
I bet this was done with marker training too. So, good luck, Bob. You'll always find an animal for you in the appropriate size. Although I do love pigs I probably wouldn't start with such a giant criature , at least not on your sofa.

Hello! I have been lurking, but keeping quiet.
This year is turning out to be a pain in the arse.
One of these days I will have a long rant.
Til then I will keep my grumpies hidden. But hello all!

Regardless of breed or mutt there will be only one.
As to space on the couch, I've always been a mean old curmudgeon. Any small dogs I've had were allowed only on my recliner.
No recliner at this house and the wife claims the spot next to me on the couch.
Note that the word "curmudgeon" starts with cur.
