Has anyone used or heard of an organic supplement that repels mosquitos? I've heard of garlic for black flies and the like, wondered if the same would work for mosquitoes.

The breeder I used to work with made a homemade solution that was the same as Avon's skin-so-soft. It repels flies and mosquitoes very well and also makes the coat look healthier. I use skin so soft all the time on myself when being outdoors and it really works well. There was even a news report on t.v. quite a few years ago where some scientists did an experiment with different insect repellents and Avon's skin-so-soft out did all the other leading brands out there including that nasty smelling repellent OFF. Just ask your local Avon lady for more info. on it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I've been using CedarCide which comes in lotion, spray, granual form. It has worked GREAT so far (if you don't mind smelling like Cedar) and is supposed to be all natural. Can be used on children and pets as well.
Another natural alternative is Absorbine Supershield Green - it's a horse spray but is labelled as safe for pets and people. It contains
citronella, eucalyptus, lavender, pennyroyal, pine needle and tea tree oils. It smells very nice
and comes in a 950ml spray bottle. Not very
expensive and the large bottle is nice if you have lots of dogs. It can be purchased at most
places that sell horse supplies or ordered from
most vet supply catalogues that deal with horse stuff.
