Just wanted to share- I ordered a hurtta hiker belt on Amazon and have used it 3 times now on our morning walk/jogs. It's great and I would recommend it if you're looking for something more comfortable than a typical waist leash. I can swing my arms more freely and the connection points have a little give in them which is nice. I did remove the canicross leg straps and replaced the quick release with a locking carabiner so I can temporarily attach her to a nearby post while I use the park exercise stations. It is rather expensive... but not a lot more than some of the competitors.
The only thing I've noticed so far is that I need a shorter leash (nothing to do with the belt itself). Our 6' leash drags on the ground sometimes which could be a trip hazard and probably isn't great for the leather. I just ordered a 4' biothane leash with a built-in traffic handle- hopefully it will be a good fit! Planning on trying a longer hike with it this weekend if the weather cooperates.
It looks well-made and well-thought out. I can see this coming in handy for many situations where you are needing or wanting to walk a dog hands-free. I admit, in looking at the pictures, I thought those leg straps looked a bit uncomfortable, but it's good to know they are easily removed. Hurtta makes quality stuff!
