Happy Easter days I wish to you all from me too; Tell me, do you also celebrate it by painting up eggs and hide them between bushes or somewhere else for the children to search for them? Do you also tell them that the Easter Bunny and his helpers has painted and hidden them? For us it was always a great excitement to be on the search.

True and the adults in my wife's family still look for their basket. Yep, I've been doing it for the past 52 Easters here. The small kids do the eggs outside. When all of my grandkids were small we had a "jelly bean tree" in the front yard. When the kids shook the tree, jelly beans would fall out. It was just this year that they found out one of my daughters was tossing a handful of the jelly beans into the tree.
Too funny the different rituals of different cultures! I didn't even know what jelly beans are.
I myself discovered the "lie" with about 6 years, because I caught my older brother by doing suspiciously many bows near plants in the garden. Nevertheless I continued to love for many years searching for eggs and chocolate bunnies.

This doesn't surprise me! You can see that also squirrels are very intelligent animals and obviosly very good observers. You might some day try to train one, in order to fullfill your wifes wish for a smaller animal. Well they are not very similar to doggies, but very sweet too,
Once I was in a hotel in Switzerland near to a there called squirrelpath, where lots of wild living but tame squirrels came to the people. A friend of mine had left an open box of chocolat candies in his room on the bed. When he entered the room (window open) a squirrel was sitting there and had already eaten almost all of the candies. Just looked at him and continued eating!, Can't imagine that chocolate is good for them, hope it didn't get problems afterwards.
