Good morning everyone, just wanted to reintroduce myself! I learned A LOT about dog training through the Leerburg resources and especially this web board many years ago. I have since had to say goodbye to the dog in my signature (she had a rare complication of lyme that caused kidney failure). I'm currently living life with one of her daughters (Billie) and a recently adopted Pit (Lua).
I used to do stockdog work with Keiko and had intentions for Billie, but started graduate school and now just have a high energy pet and her companion (ha!). Returning to Leerburg now that I'm done with graduate school and would like to invest more time in their training and hopefully put a CGC on Lua. In a few years I'm very interested in getting into Schutzhund, but for now I am just trying to enjoy what life has to offer with my current dogs.

Great to see you here again, Jasmine, but so sorry to hear of your loss...
Nice-looking dogs! Oh, and congratulations on finishing grad school! As you say, maybe now there will be a little more time to get back into dog training. I totally understand how life circumstances get in the way of our plans, but I think for all of us here on this board, dogs are a life-long passion that we will always be involved with, in whatever way we can at the time.

Thanks, Cheri! I think I am learning that very thing you mentioned in your last sentence. I'm beginning to experience the ways in which a passion can morph, but still be a passion...if that makes any sense.

Betty, Billie is an Australian Shepherd. She just has prick ears, lol . She's from some of the old school working lines (Wally Butler and Slash V dogs). You've assessed them correctly Billie is very smart, very engaged, and also probably the most sensitive dog I've had. She's high energy and has been my adventure buddy through graduate school. Lua is also very smart and much more laid back. She was a stray before I got her. She's a very happy go lucky dog and is learning to engage me more in general now that we've started marker training.
