Caucasian ovcharka German shepherd cross. 3/4 caucasian.
Happens to be living in my home, as a farm throw off.
18 weeks now, with tons of work, housebroken, fetch trained, recall is awesome, female.
Came completely unsocialized, was born outside and left there. After a treatment for worms, nis is half vaccinated, all fun is in the yard.
I will say, in love, welcome Sasha. After all my hard work, glad my sister sent her up. We are keeping her.

Sounds like a serious combination if not raised properly but at the same time could be a good one with proper training and management.

The only issue we have right now is eating, she has no appetite for puppy kibble. Added wet, no go. She only eats about 3 cups every 2 days. Or 2 cups a day most.
Inside she lounges, as caucasians do, outside she has her zoomies, and sticks close when not playing. She won't be an off leash dog period, but so far, is a great tempered, tolerant quick learner. By tolerant I mean I trained her to be handled like a vet will, minus the butt stuff, so she was an absolute gem when checked Monday.
I was worried at first that she wasnt very puppy like inside, but since she came from the farm, she had a lot of inside stuff to get used to.
She took to a lead well, stairs like a champ, doesn't potty inside, and prefers to hang out inside rather than run around. I have her on a drag, and she loves being brushed.
The farmer dumped her off at my sister's house, so she sent her up. She already loves the cat, and my rat. Easiest dog to crate train in my life.

Is she self feeding? If so don't leave the food down for more then 10 mins.
She'll catch on quickly.
Keep up with the training. sounds like you dong fine for now.

She gets it for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes at supper. Only the water stays down. She us starting to eat supper, but doesn't touch breakfast.
Vet said she was thin but healthy, and preferred her to stay on the thin side, since she will grow to be a big pup.
She is a super sweet pup, doesn't even mouth!
Thanks Bob! Will keep everyone updated on her progress!

I'm also a fan of thin dogs AND puppies as long as they are healthy.

I fixed up breakfast portions in Kong, with wet food, and froze them, that works better than a bowl. More kibble than wet, but she loves it.
With that she fully consumed supper.
She catches on so quick, I swear she is an old dog in a puppy body!
I wish I could post a pic!

Becky, going back through this post you said she was born outside and just left there. From that you say at 18 weeks she is house broken, fetches and has a good recall. Was it you or your sister that did this training?
I'm having a bit of conflict here. How old was she when your sister got the dog and how old when you got her? After a certain age if a puppy has little to no human contact the chances of it taking to training can be slim.
I'm concerned because of the trouble you had with a Lab, one of the friendliest, easy to train dogs on the planet to a dog that is 3/4 CO. A dog that is often considered very primitive when it comes to training.
