We are doing well, only 8 cases total up here, 9 total since the pandemic.
We just got over a wicked cold tho, I am still coughing 2 weeks later!
Tourist season is starting in a week or so, so expecting more cases eventually.
With work and the animals to take care of, not much has changed here. I was always rather antisocial so 6 feet social distancing hasn’t been an issue - lol.
I finally managed to snag a round pen, so I hope to get Winchester the Belgian Draft saddle and harness trained.
Fennec and Eleven are doing well. Haven’t done much dog training lately. I am kinda jonesing for a pup, so we shall see what comes to pass….
It was a struggle getting through it because of family members with covid and a loss of my brother to it. I think the best part of being so closed up was a wonderful connection my wife and I have always had and it got that much better being so closed up during the worst part of it. All family is good now and we have been back going to track meets, cross country meets, soccer games, baseball games, you name it with the grand kids.
I have been a hermit on the farm forever and my husband and I rarely do anything social so “distancing” has been our SOP and not much of a change,
What has been tough is loss of friends over strongly held beliefs about vaccines, masks, our last President, etc. EG husband, a surgeon, wore a mask for 40 years….can’t comprehend anti mask.
I got a pup for Mother's day, a purebred Caucasian Ovcharka.
I called him Leo ! He came home July 5th, and is going on 5 months on Sunday. He is absolutely fabulous. Keeping me company when carving and exploring with my kids and I out along the river and bay.
He's already housebroken and trained, I absolutely adore him!
Otherwise all I do is carve and clean, around here!
With my past few pups, he is a breeze.
I do NILF and threshold training daily, and I already have him e collar trained.
My only problem is him peeing at the bottom of the stairs outside, if only he could go five more feet when off leash, lol.
Hopefully when snow is finally here, he will venture further. Otherwise I just rush down with him and lead him close to where I prefer.
Waiting very impatiently for winter up here!
