Hi, I know this is an old post, but thought I would respond in the hope you saw it.
My dogs eat the Tripett Green Tripe with duck and salmon. I think it's new. I mix a bit in with their kibble. One dog is a very picky eater and she licks her bowl clean with this mixed in.
I had previously bought a can of just green tripe. When I opened the can it smelled pretty bad so I thought it was spoiled and threw it out. LOL. The green tripe with duck and salmon doesn't smell as bad. I've never seen my picky eater wolf down food so well, and go looking for more.
thanks for your reply and sharing....over here in Malaysia, it is a bit hard to get the raw supply of tripe....so the canned one will be the next alternative...
Actually I have the privilege of getting 50lbs of it from a close friend and I think I would rather do anything besides grinding it and giving it to the dogs. LOL
Nevertheless I give it to them raw and they love the funkness out of it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

QUOTE: Raw. I have never smelled tripe being cooked and I don't want to........... END
Ditto! My grandfather used to make this thing called "head cheese," and man, that stunk up the whole street. Someone else I knew cooked kidneys, and that was even worse. And both were LOOOOOOONG-cooking recipes. I imagine that "variety meats" might smell similar to each other.....but I guess I really don't want to know very much.
