Debbie will be doing a 3 day obedience seminar in western Pennsylvania from July 16th through 18th. I would highly recommend her seminars. . .please contact me if you have any questions or would like to attend. Thanks.
Curious: how advanced is such a seminar? I have two GSDs and work with them - 'kinda' - but would like to move them up a notch or two or three in the training cycle.
One is a male the other female. Two yrs.+ in age.
Any info is appreciated.
Oh yeah... How much is such a seminar?

I don't know costs as my friend is hosting. The seminar will most likely be a mix of advanced/basic. Depends so much on the dogs that are there. Debbie can help with anything from puppy development to World Championship preparation. . .you won't be disappointed. Please call Tina at 814.354.2039 for cost questions.
When Debbie held a seminar at South Metro Atlanta SchH club a few months ago, she showed a mixture of old style AKC training and clicker work ( which worked for the style of dog that she competes with ). Not much motivational type training.
She taught about 70% young dog type training with maybe 30% advanced.
I just finished watching hours of seminar tape from Zappia and I couldn't describe the work in any other terms than "motivational". It was a clinic on positive reinforcement training, mainly with food rewards.
It didn't strike me as old school AKC at all. I enjoyed a good deal of it, especially the ways she works on keeping the dog's attention and maintaining a training relationship when it is time to step on the field and work.
There seemed to be mostly beginer type dogs so the content of the seminar didn't get that far.
Robert,
Her upper level handler tips are worth watching if you can view them - there's a reason that she's always way up there in the pack. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Smooth handling with the right dog....judges *like* that picture!
No one can not argue Debbie's sucess. She knows her obedience and has proven that it works.
The only issue I have with Debbies training is that she table trains the dogs at her club in protection work. Gene Egland has her brain washed on this shit abusive form of dog training. With this said I am sure Deb does not go into table training in her seminars.

You have been around and seen a lot more than I.
I have never used the table. But let me just say that not all use it the same way. Like all else some abuse it others just use it as another tool. Now days very few tye the dog and start beating it into defense.
