I am new to this board. I have been an avid reader for a year but finally got my nerve up to post.
My family lost our family fur baby of 14 plus years to a Grand Mal Tonic seizure on 7-16-03 at 4:36am. She was a rescue GSD since we don't breed or show I believe in adopting from the breed I like best.
I would like to decatiate this to her. I am sorry you had to go but it was your time. You hung on as long as as you and maybe longer than you should have. We have enjoyed you as a family member for years.
You were my riding partner and also my legs when I wanted the horses to come up to the barn. They are missing your soft kiss on their nose.
We think you had a hand in having us adopt two more rescue dogs to help us grieve and deal with the pain. I feel guilty to have the new rescues already but these dogs needed us badly and who am I to turn away.
I think you sent us these two GSD to help us and for us to help them. You know I can't type as I cry but I hope we did the right thing and hope you are now running and playing pain free.
Emma, I am sorry for your loss. We all wish it would never have to end.. Know that you did well for her while she was with you, and that you will again be together.
Thank you so much Butch and Deanna you both are so correct. It just feels better to talk about it that people will not tell me to get a grip on it.She was a rescue we got when she was about two or so we believe. And we did have her 14 years. That girl gave her heart out for us. She is deeply missed.
She was treated like one of the kids. I know this is probably totally not appropriate but I need some help with one of the new rescues. I was not sure under what topic so I just put it under GSD Rescue.
If any of you have time please read it. Or move it to the correct topic area.
Remembering the good times we shared together is helping a bit, and my new GSD pup is helping out as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time... no words really can help, but knowing that there are others out there that understand sometimes can make things seem a bit better.
