http://WWW.CNN.com is running a poll on breed bans. At this point banning breeds leads 60 to 40%. The question is "Should some dog breeds be banned as pets because of their reputation for violence?" The interesting thing is that the issue is "reputation for violence". I love it when somebody decides that they need to run my life because I can't do it myself.

-F-ing assholes is all I have to say. I'm writing CNN a hate letter, and am going to vote. I hate the news media, they never even make an attempt to get to the root of an issue, any issue. Shock, fear, hate, violence, sex is what they are all about. Why, because thats what gets ratings. It's like the end of Old Yeller baby,
thats right crew, very -F-ing sad.

It's coming from the San Francisco trial that started yesterday, you know, the "killer Presas". The Defense apparently put on a big theatrical show to illustrate that bitch woman Knoller threw herself on the victim to try to keep the dog off of her. Ya right! It's just ashame that a few stupid idiots have to ruin it for everyone...

VanCamp,
I'll sign that letter of yours.
Its definately a joke. They pull the same shit with guns. There is the saying "guns don't kill people...people kill people." Now there needs to be a saying..."Dogs don't kill people....irresponsible a..hole owners kill people".

The responsible dog owners in this country are hurt every single time something like this happens. There are sad, sick, deviant people out there that need to be "culled" from the breeding population, not their dogs. Wait a minute. If they ban certain breeds of dogs, then dosen't that mean that they want those breeds not to exist anymore? Where are the PETA a..holes on this? Don't these breeds have the right to exist? They are living breathing members of the animal kingdom. Oh....I see. They would all be better off rather than being "enslaved" by humans. Stupid me.

Amen Chuckie! I hope that it never comes to the point where a minority population in this country try to "wag the dog" so to speak, and convince everybody that dogs are dangerous. Stupid people are dangerous. When is responsibility for ones own actions going to become popular again? I think that is really what it comes down to. Guy has dog, dog kills other guy, dog is put to sleep. Fist guy gets "rehabilitated" for a few years in jail. Why can't it be the other way around? Put guy to sleep, rehabilitate dog.

There's an airline now (I think American but I can't be for sure) that will NOT ship pit bull terriers, BUT will ship pit bull mixes. What's up with that logic. They won't ship cargo or as extra baggage and has even gone as far as stating any dog showing any aggression will be refused. So if Fido growls your SOL. These people have no dog education to base these ridiculous bans on.

Karmen, I know Continental has for some time had restrictions in regard to a few different breeds.
Also, all airlines that are flying into countries that have BSL in place will not ship any restricted breeds into that country.
We had a small problem last year when I was shipping back to France a pair of Beaucerons that were to travel to the French Nationals for the breed.
The agent at the airport tried to refuse the two dogs due to her contention that these two dogs were Rotties which are under restriction to travel into France.
I had to get someone from Agriculture Canada come to the desk and after a long chat was able to convince the ticket agent that these Beaucerons were not Rotts and therfore could fly into France.
