For some reason I found myself looking around the PETA sight. Anyway whats there obsession with synthetic materials???? Do they have any idea how many chemicals go into making vinyl?? Has anyone else taking the time to go look around their website? What a load of crap. I mean these people refuse to wear a wool. They say wool is cruel. Since when is it cruel to cut a sheeps hair. Crap, according to Peta billions of animals are slaughter every year?? billions?? billions?? What the hell. Do these people have any idea how big a billion is??? Holy sh@# these people say that its wrong to it eat honey. I can't handle it. They even claim that is OK to feed you dog and cat a vegetarian diet.
There is a wolf/wolf hybrid sanctuary close by that has supposedly started feeding the wolves a vegetarian diet after recieving information from PETA stating that wolves have never REALLY been carnivores...that they are actually omnivores. Guess that explains why they have such extra large and sharp canines, eh?
LOL...whatever!
Wolfs have never been carnivores you nuts. Don't you know they are grazers and don't even like to eat dead carcasses, that would be cruel. Did you know that really no animal was meant to eat other animals? That is why dinosaurs died because they ate all the plants on earth.
Actually, dogs *can* live on a vegetarian diet. Unlike cats, they are not "True Carnivores", meaning that they do not need meat to survive. My understanding is that cats need the taurine contained only in meat, for proper organ (heart?) function, while it is not essential for dogs. I believe I read that in the Pitcairn book.
The key word here is "can". Not for real long though and not for any kind of optimum health. where are we suggesting the dog get his protien source from? Thats an awfull lot of eggs....oops they come from a meat source too.
