One of our own Karmen Byrd has just entered this years Nationals after her dog Dante passed his SchH3 with scores of 96,88.96. Let's all wish her the best of luck.
Thanks guys, I am very excited about showing, scared shitless but excited This is my first dog to take to a National event. Let's hope he doesn't suddenly "forget" something LOL.
I wouldn't worry about the dog. Take 2 deep breaths and calm yourself prior to starting. The dog will take care of itself. In the trials (NAPD) I have watched most of the deductions were for handler error. Keep yourself calm and focused and the dog will continue to do what it always has!!! You will do great!!!
If you can't be a Good Example, then You'll just have to Serve as a Horrible Warning. Catherine Aird.
To all of you out there who don't know Karmen, let me give you a little background. I have known her for over 17 years and we have become great friends. The dog she will be showing at the Nationals is not only a dog she raised and trained from a puppy but a dog out of her own breeding program from her VERY first litter. How many of us can say we have done that? No matter what happens at the actual trial in Boston I think she should be very proud of her accomplishments. She has worked very hard with Dante and we are so proud of her!!
That is awesome! Owner bred, trained and handled, it doesn't get any better than that!
Best of luck to Karmen and Dante from all of us at Desert Thunder K9
We'll be standing by for results!
Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement and support. I can't wait to show. It will be such an experience for both me and my dog. Cindy, Dante hopes to make Rixi (his grandma) very proud. Only two weeks to go
