I just learned something interesting. If the FCI is going to recognize and accept the AKC the AKC will have to recognize Schutzhund. So far they have held an invitational event with 12 participants selected by the WDA. Apparently it was well recieved. In addition there is a presentation being prepared for AKC working dog judges on Schutzhund. There is a good chance that the AKC may RECOGNIZE SCHUTZHUND in the next 2 years!!!!!
The Invitational was held in conjunction with the GSD specaility on 11/5 in Georgia. It was well attended and well recieved.
Has hell frozen over and nobody told me?????

See nobody tells me nothing!!! Mushroom, I am just a mushroom! The AKC stance on protection training really soured me on the organization. It was just the last straw. I spent 6 weeks trying to track down the status of protection sports with the AKC and couldn't find out anything. The presentation I referes to is being presented by a Giant Schnauzer breeder. She is taking her Giant To demonstrate that we aren't taining killers.

The FCI has always *recognized* ack, it's the only registry in the US it does recognize. But it does not accept ack as a member, nor is it likely to in the near future.
