I just viewed the video and cann tell you that Benhard has a nice set-up in Germany for training dogs. THe tape has a number of good dogs, and it was nice to see how he applied his methods over there, and to a few of his own dogs. Benhard on the video had an excellent female and a young male. Does anyone know what bloodlines Itor is from as there were also a number of his family members on the tape. It was an enjoyable tape that gives a good insight into this mans set-up and dogs. THe only thing that I was hoping to see that I did not was him tracking and doing protection, but hey you can't have everything!
Yeah indeed a very good tape. I just love to see Itor doing focusing when in deep meditation he don't feel anything even a heay weight steppin on his tail beautiful. I wonder did Bernard coreect him when he is out of focus in training Itor. What correction do Bernard use when Itor is out of focus
Bernhard had Itor at the seminar he did in Peoria, Il last June. I never saw any corrections. I heard him growl(Bernhard), but never saw anything physical. The way he teaches and talks, I doubt there is much correcting. Yes, there has to be. I know that. I just mean I doubt there was very much of it. He is big on rewarding correct behavior and ignoring incorrect. The only way to get the ball is to focus, otherwise you can't have it. With a high drive dog, that is correction enough. That is if you are very quick...
Hey Todd,
When you get back from Bernhard's kennel come back to this post and share the wonderful expierence with us less fortunate folks....LOL
I am sure we all could learn from it !!!
Thanks, Mike Reagan
