I have taken my 8 month old puppy to the dog park less than 8 to 9 times. How can I undo damage to my pup in regards to his faith in me being the leader or any other damage. I will not be returning to the dog park ever again. I have a American Pit Bull Terrier and want to develop his skills to become a protection dog.
I have purchased the drive focus and grip video to help me accomplish my goal. Will that work for a 8 month old puppy that needs to be retrained?
You said you took your pup to the dog park 8 or 9 times and want to undo the damage. What damage?....Was he attacked or what?
How old is he?
As far as videos get "Bite training puppies" and "Building drive, focus and grip" for starters. Also I would say the puppy 8 weeks to 8 months video as well as it showes exactly how to imprint obedience on a pup.
he wasnt attacked but dog would bite at him . but he would keep jumping in their face with his tail wagging maby he is oblivious to thier crankyness. however we wont go there anymore .some of those dog anoy me anyways.Iv order the prey drive grip video. But I will really look into the other two you recomended thank you.
also should I not let my dog play with other older dogs that might want to dominate him?
thats ok I got a 10 week old. pup Im want to raise this pup properly. I already have them eating veggies with raw meat and some good fatty acids. its funny they eat like me when I really want to be in shape for a fight.
That sounds like your ok since he wasnt attacked. Sounds like he thought the snapping was playing. Just keep him FAR AWAY from dog parks.
You want to be very careful with older dogs and a pup. The 10 month old should be ok if you really know the dog and know it's ok.
I would be much more careful of the 10 week old. Your right, you dont want him dominated.
Good luck.
