hi how are you?i am new in this forum i am suod karam from kuwait i have 3 GSD 2 male and 1 female
and i want to tell you something about B.Flinks dvd it is really great but i am don t know how to start with my 6 month female i m started with him with Ball on a String for one weeks
and it is great but when i started with him in next week it is don t want to do like before in actvie what can i do <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> ?but my female like a tug more than Ball on a String
If your dog likes the Tug more than the Ball on the String, then use the Tug........use what the dog likes!
If your dog had more Drive last week and not that much Drive this week, then mabey change a few things. Just some ideas here to try:
1) Do Not feed the dog right before making Drive.
2) Kennel the dog for a few hours before making Drive. Hope this helps
thank you John DeKruyff i will try to do this work but is i m forget to tell you my dogs when i start building drive my female bites my leg and the string not ball what can i do?
Your dog is viewing your legs as a prey item so the fix is to redirect the attention to the ball. The best tool for a puppy is a horse whip. Basically but you ball on it and you have the perfect tool to build drive. She has learned that the string will bring her sucess, which at this point is not that big of deal.
Yes, Jake is correct. Don't do a lot of running around so the dog doesn't focus on your legs. You want to put more movement into the Prey item, and get the dog's Focus on the Ball on the string or the Tug.
