what is the average weight of the mal.i'm a new handler and my 3yr old male is 77 lbs.everyone says he is a big mal.my partner does every thing as far as patrol work wonderful.(even tracking)his only short coming is the out.any suggestions?i was told that he came from germany already trained.
Depending on your dogs lines he could be "normal" or large. Mals come in all sizes from 45lbs to TALL 90 lb dogs. Depends on the breeding. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Here is a sight that may be helpful. (Although I don't endorse their food!) There are so many variables, height, bone size, ect. As long as he looks fit, that's all that matters.
Put a dozen mal's in a room and you will find a dozen different shapes, sizes, and builds. Like the previous post said as long as the dog works well don't worry. I'm partial to thin and small at this point in the mals.
