there is no other breed existing that is more noble, intelligent, athletic, protective, loyal and most of all, MAJESTICALLY BEAUTIFUL than the incredible Doberman Pinscher.
When i look out into my large back yard and see him out there laying on my thick carpet of fine, silk looking, deep dark green kentucky bluegrass, i think to myself, what an awesome looking profection of beauty. the way his black coat shines in the afternoon sun is blinding.
this dog breed has been portrayed in more movies because of its awesome image than any other breed.
even today, with its popularity largely reduced over the past 3 decades it still shows up on the big screen more than any other breed.

Well, to each his own. I personally think that the GSD is the best dog breed there is. I have never been a fan of the Doberman, but different strokes for different folks. The GSD people think the GSD is the best, the Malinois people think the Malinois is the best, the Dobe people think the Dobe is the best, and I'm sure that the Poodle people would probably argue that the Poodle is the best <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You know, there may be an actual answer to the statement posited RE the Doberman--and we can have it without even resorting to Chinese philosophers.
If there truly was such as thing as a BEST breed of dog... we wouldn't need so many different species of domestic canids! To use a rather silly illustration, you wouldn't want to use your Dobe to pull a sled across the Alaskan tundra--or to chase varmints down a hole.
BUT, Dobe lovers, go right ahead and wax euphoric about the Doberman. You'll get no argument from me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I feel the need to moderate on MSpindler's last post somewhat (being a GSD man myself). I have seen some nice Dobes out there. Even one I wouldn't have minded owning myself. DOBE is right, this is the Dobe forum and I don't think we get anywhere by using it to bash Doberman lovers.

Pete,
I wasn't bashing Dobe owners. There are nothing wrong with Dobermans. Everyone has their own personal favorite. I was simply saying that there are as many different favorite breeds as their are different types of dog owners.

Hahah that surgery has got you dog ear'd I being a GSD owner really believe that anyone who has a dog has the best breed there is, DOGS! I love pincers myself being a decaited Maginum P.I fan in the early 80's is actually what got me into dog sports, The "Lads" were very impressive to me as a kid. Dobe's are a fine breed of Dog indeed.
