Anytime I'm surfing the web and I'm looking at Dobermans, I can't help but notice this dog is always mentioned and seemed to have quite a reputation.
If it's possible what was this dog like, did anyone see him work? What were the names of other superior working Dobermans in the past that some of the old veterans have seen?
There is a book being translated called Ottmar Vogel about Dobermanns. You can ask the lady who runs dobermann Kennel Ascomannis about the book because she is translating it; it covers dobermanns like up to 1985 or something, and has info about good working lines etc.
Some other good dobes were:
Satan V. Ellendonk
Hertog Conan v. Manensheide
Mannix v.d. Weyermühle
Gina v.d. Weyermühle
Kleo v.d. Weyermühle
Ali vom Langenhorst
Guy's Hilo vom NordenStamm
If you ever get to talk to manfred lerner he was the last person to breed to bingo, so he would know. I believe he is in Spain, or Czech.
I have never seen him. But he was the first dobermann to score a 300 on his SchIII and was a super producer. He throws very hard and extremely stable dobermanns. They are compared to a good working line GSD. These lines are the only known Dobermann lines to produce PSDs. Its hard to find any good Dobermann without him in there.
