I just got some old photos emailed to me and added a quick page to my site. (thanks Karmen!)
I hope everyone is as lucky to have such a dog in their lifetime......for me the icing on the cake was that she was a great sport dog and competition dog in addition to just being the coolest best (dog) friend I could ever have!!
The "I love you, Mom" look is priceless. Sorry she's gone. After looking further through your site, Dayma with the stick was my favorite picture. (I'm a Dobe owner/lover.) Then I saw Andrew and Jynx. That's truly a great picture! Loved it.
I knew Elka and she truly was one of a kind..Cindy and Elka are what got me started in Schutzhund. I even bought my once in a life time dog (a GSD-Abraxas) from Cindy. Best dog I'll EVER own..
Elka was a true represenative of the Dobermann breed. Elka was not only a great sport dog, family dog, and protector but so was her daughter Cyra. They are both greatly missed...
Thanks Pauline and Karmen,
I hope to add more photos of Elka and add a page for her daughter Cyra. I believe Chris from Australia has seen video of Cyra. She lived life to it's fullest and unfortunately died tragically at a very young age after only getting her BH. I only got one litter of 3 males before her death.
She had all the good qualities of her mom Elka and then some.........she was more like a male in her temperament and probably the toughest dog I will ever own. I never did find anything that she didn't think she could do........including bite me! (something her mother would never have even DREAMED of doing )
I have about 1-2 minutes of her and she looked strong. Was the father of the pups she had Avatar? How did they turn out?She had a sister as well that I had some footage of. Again I think she was bred to Avatar at some stage as well.
Just out of interest is Tina still breeding?
Hi Chris,
Yes the father of Cyra's pups was Avatar..... unfortunately I only got the 3 males but they are all very nice dogs. I was hoping for a female to keep back for my breeding program.
I haven't talked to Tina for a while, not sure if she is still breeding dogs or not... I hear from her via email every now and then.
