I have never try to keep a rottweiler in the house before. He is loseing a lot of hair in the house. Maybe they all do that, just did not see it before. His hair look good and there is no bald spots. He about 7 months old. He is a big boy and a hand full. Thank for every thing!!!

It's completely normal. Be prepared to sweep up a nice-sized pile at least once every week.

My daughter had a white tile floor in her kitchen and it was ALWAY covered with hair from her Rott. She finally got a dark colored floor, the Rott died. Now she has a white Pit. "Go figure"!

As I look around my house I see black Rott fur everywhere..... on the carpet, on the tile, on top of the washer (don't ask). We gave up on white clothing years ago.... welcome to the wonderfull world of the Rottweiler!!!

A Rottie has a double coat, like a GSD. They shed alot for that reason.

Yep same double coat as a GSD, now if the big ugly mothers could work like a GSD they might be worth something.

I'd rather own a ferret than a swamp collie!

You'd probably have just as much chance of training the ferret as you would a stuborn hard headed do what I want to Rottie. The ferret stamina might be a bit better.
Be happy with the Rott the GSD shed considerably more.
No really I like and have both breeds, the Rottie is handsome in his own right, the GSD has a regal thang going for him. And the looks goes without saying.
Though the Rottie origin dates back further who looks closer to the tree/Wolf?

Yeah I thought about getting me a GSD. Then good taste took over! Just kidding guys. I'd get one if I could find one that was black and mahogany and a bowling ball for a head, and didn't yodel like Hiedi of the Alps!
