I'm sure there's some people out there that have heard of this guy. What's what? This place sure looks like it has the credentials.
I've even seen commerials on Travel Channel or as I call it "The Rich Channel" LOL.
Is it just me or do these dogs look like they're about 110lbs+ a piece? This may not be the case. So what can people tell me about this guy.

I am inthe wrong business. I wrote and article on my web site last week titled Buying an Adult Dog for Personal Protection or Breeding - BUYER BEWARE!!!! http://leerburg.com/buyer.htm - more people should read this. Too many good people get ripped off by others . I am not trying to say Prather is a con-artist. I don't know him. But in almost 30 years around the business I have never seen a $42,000.00 working dog. I think I am going to try this on my web site - add a couple of $30,000.00 and $40,000.00 dogs - what the heck. I can stay under his price and still make a dollar or two.

Wolf,
Did you see the same show I did? It was called something like "toys for millionaires." They featured Harrison Prather and his kennel/training facility. I wasn't impressed at all. The dogs looked fat and slow. IMO he exploits rich people who lack knowledge about PPD's.
Hey Ed,
I'm in the wrong business too, if this guy can sell dogs for $50,000!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Keep up the good work; you are appreciated! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

LOL, yeah it was the same show. The exact same. I guess it's a thing when you have this type of reputation (because of his references, Movie Stars, etc.) I guess that helps him.
I think sometimes many people will pay for something just because it's the most expensive . . . so therefore it has to be the best. It's kind of like a label on a shirt. I'm not hands on in the business like Ed, but I didn't think there was anything special about them. You'd think for that price they could drive your car and carry a gun, lol.
I thought they looked as big as a lot of Rottweilers. Also there wasn't much info about them, I thought it was minimal. Maybe he's in bed with a Hollywood big shot? LoL

Nice site!
Hey Wolf, if that is your price range, then I would be very careful who you buy a dog from. I hear that, that guy Frawley and his buddy Tim N., are just OK, but if you want a top of the line GSD for protection then you don't need to look any farther. I'm your guy.
I am sure that I could undercut their prices by at least a few thousand dollars. Say about 25,000-35,000 dollar range to start. Lets do lunch. We can pound out a deal.

Milt, that's more than I spend on a day's food. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Hmmm, I think I'll get a dutch Mal mix and we can both eat LOL.
It looks like they are training show line dogs?! I would only count on my show line dog to protect me if I had food with me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> . Sad but true.

VanCamp-
Just OK?! We're the best man!lol <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Well Ed is anyway.
I didn't spend much time at Harrison's site, but I tell ya it seems strange not to have any pedigrees listed (at least I couldn't find one)!!!
In all fairness to this guy his average customer will only pay $18,000 and also he does offer regular "European German Shepherds" starting at $1,500 (I can't figure out if they are working or show lines)! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
BTW, what do I know I ain't no exspurt (Ex- is a has been and a Spurt is just a big drip)! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

JUST FOR THE RECORD, I hope everyone knows I would never pay for that dog, unless maybe I had a Bill Gates type salary . . . which is unlikely. I probably have about as much chance of achieving that as I do getting abducted my aliens, LOL.
I just thought you guys would be interested in seeing it, at least for a good laugh, lol.

I wish Ed would put a $40,000 price tag on a few of his dogs just for the sport of it!
If I'm not mistaken, this same Harrison Prather is of the "Timbershepherd (TM)" fame. The founder of the Timbershepherd (tm) was breeding imported german stock with timberwoves, the dogs he sold were 2/3 GSD and 1/3 timberwolf. It was under the theory that man had bred the real fight drive and instinct of of dogs and the wolf aspect brought it back out. He used to advertise rather aggresively in Soldier of Fortune magazine and the Robb Report. I investigated the Timbershepherd (tm) thing about 20 years ago. I did not see the show; its amazing how those who have so much forget its value so quickly.
