How can you tell or research what is a better line for a working dog (personal protection). Here are two adds from todays paper. From earlier posts on this board I have learned that SchH-3 titles alone mean nothing because the dog can perform in prey, and you know very little about the defense or civil drives. I am talking about research of pedigree, not the actual puppy tests you perform.
A. Outstanding import bloodlines. Q. Antverpa and F. Karthago by Torro SchH-3.
Well, it is easy to see that link you provided got bit by the Czech bug. I am partial to the Czech lines, so I would immediately lean that way. The question is not which lines are better working lines. The question is what do you want out of your dog? After you answer this than it is easy to do the research. For instance we just had a litter yesterday. These are going to be some tough I am going to eat you dogs. Should be very civil. Not everyone wants that, not everyone can handle that. So it is better to find out your experience level, and what it is you like in a dog first...I think I am talking in cirles <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> ...long day yesterday..
Lines mean NOTHING unless the dog/pup in front of you has good nerve and drive. I would recommend focusing MUCH more on learning how to test individual puppies than learning about lines.
Sometimes people "sell bloodlines" because their individual dog/pups do not stand out on their own... so be careful.
