VA Canto von Arminius
SchH3 Kkl 1
Sire Born : 18. August 1972
This is a working grade Schulthund 3 dog he was the 1978 Sieger. Being Sieger would make him a show dog, Sch H3 would also make him a working breed, from germany.
Could this website be lying, I'll research my paper work and see what it says. I had spoke with the person I bought my dog from and he had me write these names down and told me to asked about this pedigree line. Could the breeder be lying?
Arminius is a show line kennel. However, back that long ago it was less separated. We need more of the current dogs to make a good judgement. Also, one or two dogs does not a line make.
I have been told that a Sch3 is not necesarrily (spelling?) what it looks like on paper. Like Todd said, there was not quite the split back then though. It depends on what he was crossed with. What is the rest of the pedigree?
I think the website is just telling the facts.

The more I look at it this maybe show line of GSD. But every dogs has a Sch rating. Even after being imported to Colorado. This dogs does not have the angulation of the modern show dog, nor is he a Lassie. I'd say that he is a 8.5-7 temperment. I'll try to post a picture.
Thanks Just because it says Sch don't mean crap huh? I just started researching this stuff because I saw it on the board. He was almost a give away and he is not registered. I didn't buy the papers. But like I said a friend/associate sold him to me. Best small investment I've ever made.
Whats KKl1? This info is coming from a Certificate of Pedigree "Vom Baerenzwinger Shephards"
Stubby's Mom sorta answered it, in another thread? But she did say this is not always true.
KK1L is considered top breed and possible Show breed and KK2L working breed and Ok to breed, yet some faults. Why is the working dog considered flawed?????????
That was informative, thanks there seem to be more information out there about GSD, then there is on most people geneological background.
To all
So what I've found is that a dog that GSDs from a German working/show background can be watered down into a show dog once here in america. That even though both parents throughout his pedigree had Sch I - III back grounds in germany and in the USA they could still be just a show dogs.
So you can water down Sch titles throughout a dogs life, sorta like padding a record for a human boxer? I could see Sch I but not II and III.
And to punctuate this that the geno tree does not really matter as much as the dogs Sire and Dam?
