I thought this forum would be a hilarious place to start a discussion about this information.
I was just PM'ed this morning by Anna Carson with an interesting piece of information.
The American Border Collie Association has made a rule that ANY dog who gets a Champion conformation title will be deregistered with the ABCA! So as I understand it, if you put an AKC Ch on your BC you will be up SC, -P, with the ABCA.*
They want to keep their dog a working breed I take it. . .and are dead serious about it.
Now why the hell can't the GSDCA do something cool like THAT. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Anyway, I thought this would give a few people some smiles today.
Anyone have some thoughts on this?
I mailed the Director of the ABCA to have her send me some official wording, or a link, to this information so I can post it when I hear back from her.

I think that is good! I have met some real working Border Collies in SAR and these dogs have been awesome -- if I could deal with their frantic behavior (no "off" switch) and those eyes.(sppoky)....... but I love my GSDs.
Seriously, one of the things I have heard the confirmation people are trying to do with them is remove the cow-hocked stance. As I understand cow hocks are desirable in this breed as they allow the quick sideways movements (to avoid being kicked) these dogs are known for.....
