I have a manto grandson and some poeple have told me that Manto does not produce very good offspring. Does any one else no any thing about Manto offspring . My dog is doing very well in schutzhund .Just thought i would ask.
I know 2 Manto sons, both very tough dogs. One retired from schutzhund last year, but was in the DVG nationals last 3 yrs. Think highest placing was 7th?
There was a Manto son in a local training club. A dog that dropped jaws when people saw the bitework. But there was a big problem, he had a lot of civil and handler aggression. The dog won quite a few protection tournaments in Germany, but just fought his handler every step of the way. Dog changed hands multiple times - will never know the real history, but regardless of IF there had been bad training experiences, this was a very serious/hard dog. Wasn't a good dog for sport - too much aggression. Don't really think he would have been ideal for police either... he was just too over the top.
Will would have loved him <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I thought he did but was not sure i am new to the sport . I guess the poeple i have dealt with did not know much about his line. There are some poeple i have met in the sport and they think that if it is not the line they are using then it is not a good line. Any one else every seen that in the sport of schutzhund.
im sure that you will find that many people will either get very defensive if you discuss the shortcomings of their dog's bloodline, or they will use it as an excuse for poor problem-solving in training...JMHO.
