I recently read a excellent book about a Australian dog handler and his man tracker named Caesar. The book is very well written and quite readable. Anyone who is interested in working dogs or militairy books will enjoy it.
The book covers the handlers trainning here in Australia as a handler and his deployment to Vietnam with his dog. Caesar was a kelpie -lab cross sourced from 'death row' at the local pound. The dogs were mostly used in support of australian and new zealand infantry units but also with the americans. They were used to follow the enemy in the bush after contacts and on patrols as scout dogs.
It isnt a how to sort of book , more a autobiography, kind of like "Chickenhawk' but from a dog handlers perspective.
Its called 'Trackers' any Australian online bookshop would have it.
