If your looking to get into this type of thing, and you know nothing about protection dogs, Schutzhund, etc., then this book is critical. This book gives you exact information you need to know about how to get your feet wet and what to do. Most books try to teach you how to train your dog and concentrate on things that won't be as helpful for beginners. These guys give you straight answers on how to get The Real Thing and what will have to take place to achieve this.
What I like best about this book is it's geared more for people on how to prepare before getting your dog and what to do with it while it's young. This way critical steps won't be over looked that can ruin your dog and it's temperament. It’ll talk about breeds to consider, when to get it, how to handle the process, which one to select, the crate, how not to get screwed, warning signs, etc. It’s not going to answer every question you have but it’s still a must I think for what you should be ready for.
