I breed working German Shepherds for police, military and schutzhund. I have a Leerburg bitch out of Orfey and Anja. Most of my lines are Czech and Belgian.

Hello All:
Sounds great but could you be a little more specific? Do you have a website? What Czech lines did you use and what have you used before and what results have you had and do you have a preference, etc? The reason that I am asking is because I know enough about WGR/DDR lines and some about Belgian lines, but trying to get the info and low down on Czech lines is kind of hard.
Regards,
Brandon
Well this may take a little time but here goes....About 5 yrs ago i bred a Nessel vh Antverpa daughter to a Czech/Belgian male of mine. He was out of Nessel on the top and Fuli Modra Hvezda on the bottom. The result was a 3-3 Nessel line. The pups were outstanding so i thought i might be hitting on something. I purchased a Tell vd Daelenberghutte* son (*Gary Hanrahan's old dog). Bred him back to one of the pups . Great dogs with everything i look for in police quality dogs. And a few have turned out to be great Schutzhund candidates also.Recently(last 2 yrs) I have introduced the Dvora and Pohranicini straze lines in and a few indescript lines from Czechoslavakia....i.e. Iglova,Podradbuzi, Mesta Ruzi. I have three litters presently 1.Xana Vom Leerburg x Mec z Kozlikovho Dvora 2.Pascha Von Hester x Brix z Arras Von Hester 3.Chocka Von Larren-Schloss x Valkyrie Drako Straze....the latter being a German/Czech cross. The litters are pretty young right now with the Leerburg bitches being the oldest at 5 weeks but outstanding puppies big boned and beautiful with great consistance in size and color in all three litters. The Belgian lines seems to add that alertness and attention span that some of the Czech dogs seem to drift from...The Czech lines add the structure and fight drive i like...together they seem to produce a well rounded and exciting dog. Colors are usually dark sables solid, blacks and black and reds. The Leerburg dog is out of Orfey vh Antverpa and Anja v Starkannof,Pascha is out of Nessel vh Antverpa and Umpfertal- Murrenhutte lines and Cochka is out of Ted vh Antverpa and Lindenhalle lines.

Hello:
Joe, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I am glad you are having success with your breedings, they sound very interesting - I wonder what they will turn out like in 1-2 years? Do you have any dogs that you bred that are service K9 or who have been titled yet? Keep us posted on their progress.
Regards,
Brandon
While the Czeck does are of a different gene pool, (most) the dogs from Belgium are normally just crossed of East and West German working bloodlines in the working circles. Great dogs produced with the use of these combinations, but really nothing new.
I also have had great success with Czech crosses. We have 2 Leerburg bitches. Danu was bred to CJ about 18 mo ago. Produced outstanding results. 4 PSDs out of the litter of 8. I have bred Mara to my Grim son. The pups are about 7-8 mo old. Outstanding litter. There are an awful lotof misconceptions about the Czech dogs. I personally think that is fine. Because if everyone actually knew how great these dogs are...they would quickly go downhill.
