My wife & I are considering purchasing a pup from this breeding, and I was hoping to take advantage of all the knowledgable people here and get an opinion of these lines, as all my experience has been with Dobes.
Hey Kevin, Pedegrees look nice! It is good to see Bob Hozmi and Eron Mat-Roz so close in a pedegree, They go back on some nice old czech blood. They are known to produce hard dogs. PM Kevin Sheldahl as I am sure he can tell you about his dog CJ, who is an Eron mat-roz son.
I know you were considering a pup from us as well. However, I can comment on this breeding. One thing I believe people here will vouch for is I am more concerned with people getting the right pup, than where it comes from. Having said that as a disclaimer...here goes.
The mothers pedigree is interesting.
Her grandfather is Eron who is the sire of CJ Kevin sheldahl's dog. The grandmother is Loty Zlataku...7CKV6/44 breed survey...not good. I have a Loty Daughter...she has to be bred to extreme dogs to produce well. Then you have Lord and the Ritterbergs...who you will find all kinds of opinions on.
I will have to differ to Hanna-Leena for the exact interpretation of the breed survey. However, I was always told to stay away from 6/44 breed surveys. There are always exceptions. I would be concerned about it being on the females top and bottom. As the female is most responsible for temperament. When looking at a dog and the pedigree the first thing I look for is the dams side. then if I like this I look at the rest. This is of course w/o being able to see the dog.
7/33 I don't like to see;-). You would have to be really there to see why the dog got 6/44? The perfect "score" is 5/55P, can't get any better than that. I know Bya, saw her in Vrbove back in 2000, she is a good female. And her litter sister Borka, seen her also. Any weakness in Cala, I would look to Nick, I have seen him in Vrbove and Bratislava, didn't care for him, not a strong dog in my opinion. Dog can get 4 in the breed survey for many reasons, bite not full, slow to release, etc.. You have to be there to see it really.
