I am looking to purchase a new pup from Czech lines. What do you think about the following dogs with parents in parentheses: Dar Bily Trpaslik (Grim zPS + Betty z Malsskeho) bred to Katy Rapacova (Art z Lipin + Gabi Rapacov), Rocky Dudakova (Baro Kuhlen + Mona z Dudakova) bred to Valencia v Leerburg (Otis v Jocobiner Schloss + Derby v Leerburg), Brit z Elisu bred to Verona z PS. I couldnt read the pedigree from Brit or Verona, but if Hanna likes Brit.... I could also break the bank and get a CJ or Dargo pup. Dog will be used for SchH but I would also like it to be more of a serious dog. Thanks.
I have a Brit z Elisu x Agi jipo-me puppy and he has turn out to be an excelent pup. He has a crazy prey drive but could focus very quickly I like the fact that he could be turned on and then be turned off. His bite is deep and full and he picks up on things very quickly
Brit z Elisu parents are Back Romnal x Elis Hronosky pramen. He also has Titus and Ciro z Pohranicni Straze.I think Brit is a great stud dog. Verona parents are Doksy Bady-Ron x Ariza z Goradony.
Jeff, I own a Dar/Mara daughter. . .she is 14 months old and already a serious customer. She has good prey drive, already shows defense, and has a very serious protective nature. She is also cute as a button when playing with my kids.
Little dominance when we first got rolling, I didn't get her at 8wks, but more like 8 months . . .wild to have an 8 month old bitch come after you.
She is a fun dog. So Dar or Mara I would have to recomend. Dar/Rena Mara/Rocky both sound good to me.
Her faults that we have dealt with are some dog aggression. . .dominance related. . .and some sensitivity when she comes into season. . .she acts like a freakin' spook for about 7 days before she bleeds. . .weird. Then when she is bleeding she is a pisshead supreme.
Must be a female thing huh, I think it's why she and my wife get along so well. LOL
Other than that she is a peach in the house, she is a knucklehead, but we work around that well. Like I said, fun dog. . .nice little working bitch.
Jeff,
You know Fetz well after being cooped up in the truck with him for those 6 days during the N.M. Bernhard Flinks seminar. He is a Dar/Mara offspring, and a full litter sister to VanCamp's dog. He was slow to develop prey drive but now he is trained in that drive only with excellent results. You are well aware of his serious, protective nature. He goes into defensive too fast, and would be a much better patrol dog for a PD than a sport dog.
I have no doubt that a Rocky/Mara pup would be equally as good. I think this line requires some expertise with training/handling, so get yourself a good club. I know you train well on your own and I'm sure will be seeing your name in the Nationals some day if you get the right dog. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Thanks all. Will check your PM. I tried sending one before, but your box was full. I am working w/ Chattahoochie schh and Kallie is a much better dog for it. To be honest, Fetz is the whole reason I approached Todd. I like his style. I also sent VC a PM before and liked what he said about his dog. I am looking for that national level dog (the trainer still has a LONG way to go), thats why I'm probably to freaked out over making the plunge, I don't want to make a mistake. After talking to Todd it sounds like Rocky/Mara is a better dog for me than Dar/Katy. Plus I'd have two Mink great grandkids flying around the house. Thanks again guys.
PS Will, Tracy and Dennis said your Mal was here. I'll have to come by sometime and see Buttercup.
